Before you get started on spring cleaning your kitchen and pantry areas, you will need to gather your supplies and make a game plan. Whether your kitchen is big or small, the supplies and steps are pretty standard across the board.

Deep Clean Your Kitchen and Pantry Supplies
It’s always important to set yourself up for success when getting ready to deep clean any area of your house. For the kitchen and pantry, you’ll need a few things:
- trash bags
- box for recycling and/or donations
- broom
- mop
- vacuum with attachments (to get in those corners)
- microfiber cloths

- upbeat music playlist or interesting podcast to keep your mind occupied while you clean
Now that you have your supplies, there are a few steps we recommend for deep cleaning your kitchen and pantry.
Empty It and Toss It
The first step is, ‘Empty It and Toss It’. That’s right, things will get messy before they get clean. You need to empty your cupboards, drawers, and shelves. Work in sections so you don’t get overwhelmed. You need to get each section emptied out so you know what you’re working with, and so you can reach those corners to truly get it clean. While you are emptying your cupboards and drawers, keep a trash bag handy and toss anything that is broken, unusable, expired, or no longer needed. It’s amazing what gets shoved into the back of your cupboards over time. Make sure you get in the corners, up to the ceiling, and anywhere else that is dirty. Using your vacuum’s hose attachments can help you get any dust or crumbs that are hiding in these areas. Replace any shelf liners during this step, too. It will feel so nice to put everything back into a sparkling clean space!
For your fridge, we recommend using Homage Cleaning Concentrates on the outside of your fridge to clean it, and on the inside walls. For the shelves and drawers, hot, soapy water usually does the trick quickly and easily.

Dust It, Sweep It, Mop It
Now that you’ve got the cupboards, drawers, shelves, and appliances sparkling clean, take a look at your countertops, light fixtures, and floors. Grab a microfiber cloth and your spray bottle and dust your light fixtures, the tops of your cabinets and fridge, any decorations you have on your walls, and even your window sills. Wipe down your countertops with your Homage Essentials diluted cleaning solution (rinsing afterward if necessary). Then, sweep your floors. Pay special attention to the corners of your kitchen and pantry. Move any large items you can so you can get those areas that aren’t easily accessible. Finally, it’s time to mop. You’re almost done!
